Stalking is FUN!!

Stalking is apparently fun and easy nowadays...

All you have to do is follow someone's Twitter, be a friend on Facebook, chatting in YM/SKYPE. Ask questions on Formspring. Know where they are with Koprol/Foursquare. Watch people's performance on Youtube/My Space, Look at their holiday picture on Flickr/Photobucket etc. etc.

There are tons of choices and lots of social media/pages. My specialty or what i attend the most is Twitter. It is really fascinating to read about people at their most private time/place. Talking directly to famous person or someone on the other side of the globe. Watches how the timeline goes crazy. It's addictive and fun.

Nowadays, it is fun to stalk people's lives. Not only it is fun to see/hear what other people doing, people expect us to do so.

Well, i'm certainly part of those stalker. At first, when it is quiet world in Twitter, i follow Ashton Kutcher @aplusk and Demi Moore @mrskutcher. Just hearing-reading- their tweets (read: public display of affection) will made my day.

Then, Indonesian famous person also join the crowd. Now, there are so much of them, it is getting hard to follow the conversations. My favorites (among others) are Indra Herlambang @indraherlambang for the witty tweet, Pandji @pandji for the youth spirit, when you need some laugh you can always read Raditya Dika's @radityadika, if you need unique information @hotradero will provide it for you. And the most friendly @pakbondan who always answer every tweet (it is an impossible mission).

Twitter is a voluntary based social media. People can follow-unfollow-block whoever they want. Anyone can ask question to anyone and you can choose whether to answer or not.

It is interesting how people get affected by the social media. remember that time when an Indonesian's highschooler get feedback from the famous Justin Bieber. Everybody is talking about her, and some with the sarcasm tone. Well, whats the problem? She just got lucky, thats all.

Stalking is fun, I follow someone I like, so I know what is he doing in the moment. What is his favorite food / hangout place. I don't have to ask questions about those little things, not anymore. Because, now, people is voluntarily telling us.

It also an opportunity for sales/marketing people, that if they use it wisely. A lot of the twitter based marketing program just went down without notice. There are some unexpected turn also. like @fiksimini. This twitter account allows people to post a story within 140 characters or less and it is become a thing to get RT by @fiksimini. Wow, who knows that writing could be so cool?

Since appropriate stalking is a legal thing, the question is,

are you a STALKER yet?

The World is In Our Hand

The world is in our hand, people used this phrase to refer to something good or/and when they feel like able to do anything.

Back then, it was just an expression. People wouldn't believe if anyone says that someday it wont be just a phrase.

When mobile phone was an expensive and luxurious thing. It was just a catchphrase.

Nowadays, the world has gone smaller, from the round globe of 510.000.000 km2. Today, all you need is just a computer, laptop, mobile phone and internet connection. From 80 days to travel around the world, now its just take seconds.

Last night, i interact with people from Canada and Britain. We talked about snow, well, they talked about snow. I, on the other side of the globe never seen it before. This morning, i chatted with a couple of France. Well, i just watched them converse and i'm not even answering (they were talking in France). Few days ago, i talked with a Philippines with boundary like the limited English we speak.

I live in Bogor, a city near Jakarta, Indonesia capital, never even set foot on other Indonesian' island, within days have "traveled" around the world.

News also travels very fast. In the old days, to obtained news, the available media was only radio, then telephone. The problem is : it only able to reach certain audience. Most people get the news in the newspaper, which will give the detailed information. In the next morning.

Nowadays, people will see the headline within 140 character in their twitter timeline which contain a link that will lead to a website with the detailed info.

On the old days people will get information in the next morning, at best. Its the fastest way. Now, like i said, its will only take seconds.

Friends "the Finale"

"Just be a friend, be supportive"

Phoebe to Ross in "Friends".

I always love friends (the TV series), beside the fact that i enjoy the jokes, it actually reminds me of my friends. I was living with my friend, who i interact at daily basis. There are time when you get to a new place, you need time to get used to the place, to the people that lives there, to everything. But at this one place, i get along real fast. Then, when its time to go, it is very hard to let go..

this us, on sita's birthday..

We have this habit of waking up the birthday person at 00.00 and give them the birthday cakes and present. well, i remember they had a hard time woke me up.

I'm gonna miss everything, laughing at the small things like 'jas putih' or 'blankon'. Remember? Or asking and telling my daily boring problems and most of the time, i get answer and support. Getting a reminder whether i have wash my clothes and dishes and so on.

Everyone has known my routine, my bad. And yet, they still like me enough to consider me as their friend. im really thankful for that.

All the joy, all the fun, all the stories, all the madness, the sadness is really something i took for granted.

Now, on my way home, i just want to say goodbye, for now. Im thankful having you all as my friends, thank you for helping me grow, to be a better person.

Tuesday With Morrie

Reading Tuesday with Morrie is awe inspiring.

Saya suka pendapat Morrie mengenai kebudayaan. Kalo kebudayaan tuh membuat beberapa orang merasa di kucilkan, sayangnya kita gak bisa membeli budaya yang sesuai kemauan kita. Tapi toh kita bisa berkompromi.

Morrie is a person who accept his life as it is, even when its get worse.

Some devastating earthquake hits Java and Sumatera after i read Tuesday with Morrie. I keep thinking about it as a constant reminder of death, for me (and i am in my early twenty).

Then, i just want to share what i think is important from Tuesday with Morrie.

I am amazed by the fact that Morrie accept his near-death condition and also still able to live his life gracefully after he heard about his condition. It is how he overcome his pain, how good he treats people even when he was that sick that is amazing. Instead being angry, he just moving forward.

Love his idea on culture, that some people will feel left behind because of it. Unfortunately, we will not be able to buy some of the culture according to our needs. Though, to make the best of it, we could compromise.

Obviously, we only have short life, how we make the best of it and to prepare for the journey after it, Yang jelas, kehidupan kita tuh pendek banget, bagaimana kita menyikapi hidup adalah bekal kita satu-satunya, if u believe in after life anyway.

Here is the thing, i still care what people say. Morrie is at the point that he really dont care what people say.

I also like a question "have you make peace with yourself?" i found it very difficult, to forgive and accept myself for who i am. If only they got a lesson on this particular subject..
